Li-rich and super Li-rich giants produced by element diffusion

چکیده

Context. About 0.2-2% of giant stars are Li-rich, whose lithium abundance (A(Li)) is higher than 1.5 dex. Among them, near 6% super Li-rich with A(Li) exceeding 3.2 Meanwhile, the formation mechanism these and giants still under debate. Aims. Considering compact He core red giants, attention paid to effect element diffusion on A(Li). In particular, when flash occurs, makes thermohaline mixing zone extend inward connect inner convection region stars. Then, a large amount 7Be produced by can be transferred stellar surface, finally turning into 7Li. Thus, goal this work propose enrichment achieve consistency between theoretical observation data. Methods. Using Modules for Experiments in Stellar Astrophysics (MESA), we simulate evolution low-mass stars, considering effects Li abundances. The timescale ratio normal estimated population synthesis method. Then get value make comparison observations. Results. influence model results increase up about 1.8dex, which reveal giants. Simultaneously, introducing high constant diffusive coefficients (Dmix) values from 10e11 10e15in allows 2.4 4.5dex, explain most method reveals that among 0.2-2%, consistent levels.

Polarimetry of Li - rich giants ⋆

Context. Protoplanetary nebulae typically present non-spherical envelopes. The origin of such geometry is still controversial. There are indications that it may be carried over from an earlier phase of stellar evolution, such as the AGB phase. But how early in the star’s evolution does the non-spherical envelope appear? Aims. Li-rich giants show dusty circumstellar envelopes that can help answe...

Discovery of Super-li Rich Red Giants in Dwarf Spheroidal Galaxies

Stars destroy lithium (Li) in their normal evolution. The convective envelopes of evolved red giants reach temperatures of millions of K, hot enough for the Li(p, α)He reaction to burn Li efficiently. Only about 1% of first-ascent red giants more luminous than the luminosity function bump in the red giant branch exhibit A(Li) > 1.5. Nonetheless, Li-rich red giants do exist. We present 15 Li-ric...

Li-rich Thin Film Cathode Prepared by Pulsed Laser Deposition

Li-rich layer-structured cathode thin films are prepared by pulsed laser deposition. X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and electrochemical testing in half battery cells are used to characterize crystal structure, surface morphology, chemical valence states and electrochemical performance of these thin films, resp...

Li-rich RGB stars in the Galactic Bulge

Aims. We present Lithium abundance determination for a sample of K giant stars in the galactic bulge. The stars presented here are the only 13 stars with detectable Lithium line (6767.18Å) among ∼400 stars for which we have spectra in this wavelength range, half of them in Baade’s Window (b = −4) and half in a field at b = −6. Methods. The stars were observed with the GIRAFFE spectrograph of FL...

Li-rich antiperovskite superionic conductors based on cluster ions.

Enjoying great safety, high power, and high energy densities, all-solid-state batteries play a key role in the next generation energy storage devices. However, their development is limited by the lack of solid electrolyte materials that can reach the practically useful conductivities of 10-2 S/cm at room temperature (RT). Here, by exploring a set of lithium-rich antiperovskites composed of clus...
